The Vennbahn – cycling without borders
At 125 kilometres, the Vennbahn is one of Europe's longest cross-border rail-trail cycle paths. It runs from Aachen via Stolberg and the Belgian town of Monschau to Troisvierges in Luxembourg. Thanks to the former railway route, the cycle path has only gentle gradients – ideal for leisure cyclists and families. From Parkhotel Hammerberg, you can reach the Vennbahn starting point in just 3 kilometres.
Three countries on two wheels
What makes the Vennbahn special: on a single tour you cross three countries – Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. Along the route, you pass idyllic villages, historic railway stations and impressive viaducts. The landscape changes from the gentle hills of the Aachen region through the High Fens to the Ardennes. Numerous cafés and restaurants invite you to stop for regional specialities.

Cycling for every taste
Beyond the Vennbahn, the region offers excellent cycling routes. The Eifel Heights Route leads through spectacular upland scenery, while the Rur Riverbank Path follows the picturesque course of the river. For e-bike riders, there is a dense network of charging stations along all main routes. Mountain bikers will find challenging trails and natural paths in the forests around Stolberg.
